WHAT TEMPERATURE RANGE CAN 509 SUPERCAULK BE APPLIED IN?

509 SuperCaulk can be applied in temperatures ranging between 40 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit. CAUTION! DO NOT APPLY 509 SUPERCAULK WHEN TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BELOW 32 DEGREES DURING THE CURING PROCESS!!!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR SUPERCAULK TO CURE?

After application 509 SuperCaulk will be dry to the touch within one hour. 509 SuperCaulk will take from 8 - 36 hours to cure depending on thickness and weather conditions.

HOW SHOULD LOGS BE PREPARED FOR CAULKING?

Log areas to be caulked must be clean, dry, and free from loose or foreign materials.

HOW DO APPLICATION CONDITIONS EFFECT RESULTS?

When the temperature rises, logs will expand. When the temperature drops logs will contract. When 509 SuperCaulk is applied during cold damp conditions the logs will more than likely be at their smallest dimensions (after some normal shrinkage may have occurred). When the weather dries out and warms up the logs will expand and the sealant will normally relax. Conversely, if you apply your sealant during hot, dry conditions, the joint will be at its smallest point and when temperatures or even turn very humid, the logs may contract and put the sealant in stress. In extreme circumstances the contraction or movement may be severe enough to tear the sealant.

HOW DO YOU TOOL AND FINISH CAULKING JOINTS?

All caulking joints should be tooled by spraying a small amount of water on to the surface of the caulking and tooled with a wet foam paint brush. Try to maintain a caulking depth of ¼ inch as SuperCaulk will shrink slightly during curing.

HOW MUCH COVERAGE CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A TUBE OF 509 SUPERCAULK?

Spills or runs of 509 SuperCaulk must be cleaned up immediately with water. Once cured it is extremely difficult to remove 509 SuperCaulk completely.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF 509 SUPERCAULK?

The shelf life of 509 SuperCaulk is at least 12 months under normal environmental conditions.

HOW DO I STORE 509 SUPERCAULK?

Store 509 SuperCaulk at moderate temperatures, in a clean, dry place, out of direct sunlight. Do not allow 509 SuperCaulk to freeze. Do not store 509 SuperCaulk in close proximity to radiant heat sources such as fireplaces or wood stoves. Excessive radiant heat may cause the material to start to cure in its container.

509 SuperCaulk is shipped in cases of twelve 10½ oz. tubes. 99% of our orders are shipped within 24 hours of order receipt via UPS Groundtrack.
