WHAT IS BEAN-e-doo MASTIC REMOVER?
BEAN-e-doo Mastic Remover is an EPA recognized product that effectively removes all types of mastic from concrete floors economically, safely and with minimal effort. BEAN-e-doo is a natural product, made from 100% soybeans. It evaporates slowly, has virtually no odor and removes the mastic with one easy application. WHAT COVERAGE CAN I EXPECT WITH BEAN-e-doo?
Asbestos Mastic: Up to 250 SF per gallon
Vinyl, Latex or Acrylic Mastic: Up to 200 SF per gallon
Ceramic Tile Mastic: Up to 150 SF per gallon
ARE THERE ANY LIMITS ON USING BEAN-e-doo MASTIC REMOVER?
BEAN-e-doo should never be used to remove mastic from Wood Subfloors or Underlayment!
HOW DO YOU APPLY BEAN-e-doo MASTIC REMOVER?
General application: Pour undiluted BEAN-e-doo Mastic Remover directly on the concrete floor. Use a long handled brush or broom to make sure it covers all trowel ridges. BEAN-e-doo softens the mastic for easy removal. Dwell time for black asbestos mastic is one hour and up to four hours for vinyl, acrylic, latex and other water based mastics. After the mastic has softened, simply remove with a long handled scraper or squeegee.
Application Notes:
Applying more than the recommended amount of BEAN-e-doo does not improve results, but can actually increase the difficulty of the cleanup process.
For floors with large cracks in the concrete, always fill the cracks with Oil Dry absorbent before pouring on the BEAN-e-doo
HOW LONG SHOULD BEAN-e-doo DWELL BEFORE REMOVING THE MASTIC?
BLACK (ASBESTOS) MASTIC................................One Hour
VINYL, ACRYLIC, or LATEX MASTIC.....................Up to Four Hours
HOW DO YOU CLEAN UP BEAN-e-doo?
For black mastic: After letting BEAN-e-doo dwell for the recommended time, black mastic will dissolve into the consistency of old engine oil. Scrape the residue into a puddle and fill with a commercial absorbent, such as OIL DRY, to soak up the residue into something that can be easily shoveled and discarded properly. Black Mastic contains asbestos and should be disposed of per local regulations.
For all other mastics: Vinyl, acrylic and ceramic tile mastics dissolve into a more solid form after using BEAN-e-doo and can be easily scraped up and disposed of without needing to absorb any residue.
After picking up the dissolved/lifted mastic, there will still be a slippery film residue remaining on the floor. Use a mixture of 4 OZ of EMERGE FLOOR DEGREASER and a gallon of water and mop the floor thoroughly to ensure all residue has been successfully removed. Before applying a new surface treatment, make sure the floor is completely dry.
